Thank you for such a meaningful read. In my little house, a converted pig pen, it's my daughter's wooden high chair, once the center of all mealtimes, now handbag holder, door propper, clothes drier and cat food station underneath! Still doing a job and stubbing toes!

There's something incredibly comforting about the kitchen table. The stories it holds, the places it's seen, the people that have gathered. In a way, the table is more rooted to our lives than a fire place or tv. Long may that continue....

What a timely article, as we're on a house hunt searching for a hopefully forever multi generational home, and (room for) a kitchen table has been such an important factor in the search.
